Recommend a free CMS for workflow

There is a need to share a large number of documents with their brief descriptions, but I think it’s not entirely right to fence my bike, because I’m sure that there are a lot of ready-made solutions on the market. Share your experience, who uses what.

Maybe docs.google.com ? It's free and does what it needs to.

At one time they used OpenGoo, now this project seems to be called Feng Office . There were some minor problems with him, but in general, at that (about 2 years ago) moment, everything suited everyone. Check it out, try it, it might work for you too.

if you have time and desire, then you can use Drupal.
There are already a bunch of modules for workflow and differentiation of rights + search modules + convenient taxonomy will do their job.

If you choose among tsms, and not completely ready-made solutions, then I would advise MODx (Evolution) Extremely user-friendly interface and structure of documents of endless nesting.

You can try my bike with the Soft Catalog module , in theory, I did just for such things.
- Support for a database of CSV files
- Counting downloads
- Displaying pages in the form of program descriptions
You can also install Users + Comments & Rating modules for project socialization.

It really depends on the workflow of your company. Perhaps Google Docs is also suitable (there are plug-ins for MS Office, access from anywhere in the world; if the company's mail is from Google, then generally a kosher mixture is obtained).

Judging by the description, and WordPress will do. Or MediaWiki.
