Recommend a corporate messenger

I want to propose the introduction of an internal messenger at the company, but I just don’t know what exactly is suitable. There are about 200 people in the company, you need something like an internal "ICQ" with storing history on your server. What can you advise? A budget solution is preferred.

+1000 Jaber. The arguments are as follows:
1. Your own server (do not depend on external servers), your own security policy, settings, etc...
2. Encryption. Any, up to the maniacally directed!
3. Clients under all! Including any undercomputers and smartphones.
4. The ability to speak in voice, and with direct hands and video ...

jabber. There are plugins for storing logs. Video/audio via jing is implemented in many clients.

Jabber without options. For an organization, there is such a useful thing as a shared roster. A new person came, they added him there, he appeared in the contact list for everyone. Removes the eternal "we have a new person in department X, here are his contacts, add."

Microsoft has a communicator - text, audio, video. A server is installed on the network (it is licensed separately, though), everything works through it. Natively integrates with Outlook.

Do you want corporate or to have a chat?
For just a chat - jabber + all sorts of bells and whistles, and the back of the body not covered by technical support.
Corporate - then, depending on what your mail and domain are on, about MS - they wrote above.
If the lotus is Lotus Sametime.
If postfix + dovecot + samba - then oh, jabber again, but then I think they wouldn’t ask.

Jabber, but as an OpenFire server .
And storing logs on the server out of the box and a bunch of everything, to manage the web interface, since you need a simple solution.
I used it in an office for 100 people, it was spinning in a file dump along with other things (Debian GNU / Linux, samba on it, and so on)

The topic is certainly rotten - but I got into it by searching: "Community messenger".
I started looking for reviews due to the fact that I accidentally met a gaming messenger: Discord and decided to watch something like this. There are native clients for Linux, Windows, Android or just access via the Web. You connect to: "Server" is a certain community. Let's say I'll take it now and create a server. I will name it as hosh and fill it with channels, both text and voice. Text channels can contain both text and graphics. To connect to this server, a special invitation will be generated in the form of a link. By invitation, a person enters the Community with a mass of channels with records in them and the opportunity to communicate there.
In general, the best messenger community has not yet found.
Something like this,
0leg.

Also pay attention to the Internal Chat
Server and multiplatform clients (java).
Used it for a while, no complaints.

Are there any jabber clients in nature that support storing the history of messages on the server?
So that, as in Skype, he sat down at another computer, but the history is still the same

Look at this one , I think it’s the most convenient for text messages / chats, and file sharing is generally on top - they abandoned the screw ball with it

Try to test the VIPole messenger. There are versions for Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Android. There is a free version, it is possible to install it in the corporate service office. It all depends on your needs

Can you tell me which jabber server to install, what add-ons and client to choose so that the history of correspondence is stored on the server and pulled up when entering from a different PC in the local one? otherwise they installed openfire + jitsi, and it stores correspondence only on the local machine.
