Recognizing a QR code from a moving object using an IP camera?

There is a small production. Details on each QR code go along the conveyor. There was an idea to track how the part goes through the stages of the conveyor (10-12 stages). Prices for specialized industrial scanners clearly do not fit into the budget, so the idea arose to buy cheap IP cameras, take video from them and do recognition using ZXing.
Criticize the idea, especially those who have experience with this library. What are the pitfalls here?

depends on what kind of objects and what shape they are. For example, if the object is a ball and the qr code may be below or on the reverse side, then nothing will be recognized. Why am I doing this. The idea is possible only if objects are in the same position relative to the "cubic" shape on the conveyor, so that the QR code is approximately in the same place and at approximately the same angle. For an abstract horse in a vacuum with a QR code on the belly will not work. If it is possible to replace a QR with a barcode, it is better to replace it and install barcode readers accordingly, it can even be cheaper than an ip camera, and it will work much more reliably. Again, as with QR codes, the position of the barcode and the object itself should be approximately the same.

Well, the biggest problem is that the frame rate of the IP camera may not be enough. It can only be determined experimentally. Plus, it’s a little embarrassing that the camera can constantly lose / catch focus (roughly speaking, it focused on the object - suddenly the object drove further - focuses on the background - and then a new object arrived). Otherwise - IMHO a normal idea, why not.
