RAM in Ubuntu. buff/cache?

It costs 8GB of RAM, of which 2.5GB is free and 2GB means used. And what is buff/cache for 3.4GB there?
this is normal? what is it in general and why does memory go to buff/cache

What's going on?
Linux is borrowing unused memory for disk caching. This makes it looks like you are low on memory, but you are not! Everything is fine!
What is happening more?
Linux uses memory not occupied by programs to cache data from disks

Linux uses this memory by pagecache. If you always need free RAM, then pull it out of the server and put it next to the table (c) Biryukov from Yandex
