Yesterday I received a mailing from the registrar of domain names R01. It refers to a change in the tariff policy from April 5. In short, the tariff for me is growing almost 6 times: from 155 rubles for the renewal of one domain to 890.
The essence of the reform is simple: there will be only three tariffs, the price tag will depend only on the number of domains on the contract. The price close to the old ones is obtained only at the higher tariff: 147 rubles, subject to 50+ domains on the contract. For a large studio or reseller, this is probably normal. But for those who have their own domains, for business or side-projects, and even non-commercial ones, 50 is clearly a bit too much...
I get into the very first tariff, where renewal costs 890 rubles.
Previously, there were more tariffs, and in addition to the number of domains, there was an option on the contract - to make an advance payment. My current renewal cost is 10,000 rubles. which I once introduced. Yes, of course, I spent this money on registrar services, but there are still more than half left! I would rate the registrar's client orientation much higher if they let me choose prepayment at the old rates.
But no.
In this regard, the question arises: where should the poor peasant go? A quick googling showed that the tariffs are now somehow very similar to a cartel: either the same about 900 rubles for ru renewal at registrars, or some obviously reseller offers. I know some of them - these are resellers of the same R01, and they will inevitably have tariff adjustments coming ...
So far, the reg.ru affiliate program looks the most interesting: there is a tariff for webmasters 199/208, you just need to build a site "Sites are long, expensive, but fast and inexpensive" or create a profile on the freelance exchange. On the other hand, there recently took place a series with the hijacking of a domain just in time for regra. True, this does not threaten me - who needs my non-commercial shares ... but still.

I also recently dragged one ru domain from R01 (originally it was on Majordomo). I chose Atex, there are 149 each. There is also active.domains 139 each, but I did not check it myself.
Technically, these are separate registrars (not resellers), but if you search well, you will find their affiliation with other registrars (each one is different, not reg and not r01).

I threw out packs of 20-30 pieces of domains when there was a similar ass, 8 years ago and nothing, life continues and hasn't gotten any worse.. and no one has died from it... and no one has re-registered those domains. Are you afraid of that too?

About two years ago, the rucenter said - that's it, dudes. The freebie is over, now the status of a partner is only for those who bash for it :D
