question about projectors

I'm going to buy a projector at home (for watching movies mainly)
Tell me about the pitfalls, etc.
Is the quality much inferior, say 42 "TV?
I think between the three models, I want it to come out cheaper (I'm not ready to spend a lot of money on this kind of entertainment).

And explain about the “Original Resolution” on projectors, is it generally impossible to watch movies at 800x600?

Pitfalls:
1. Noisy cooling.
2. Difficulty in installation (you need to fix it to the ceiling or put it on something, then rebuild the image geometry).
3. The high cost of both the projector and the normal screen. And with a bad screen, color reproduction will also not be very good.
4. Additional requirements for darkening the room.
In short, I would buy a TV - at an equal cost, it will be better and simpler. The projector makes sense when you need to get a very large image size, more than the diagonals of TVs that are currently massive. Or when you need the ability to remove the screen. At home in stationary conditions, the TV is definitely better. Especially with their current thickness.

Strange things are happening on Habré, my similar request was also not understood, and you were downvoted. We don't like projectors? I’m thinking of buying it myself, I’m waiting for one of the specialists to stir up a reviewer ...

From many years of using the projector to watch movies at home:
1. Noisy cooling. But we must not forget that the projector is not under the ear and films are rarely without sound. I wouldn't give it much importance. In addition, if the room is small, then by the end of the film you will feel an increase in the temperature in the room. The lamp gets very hot.
2. Difficult to install for the first time. Not much more difficult than attaching a new 42" LCD panel to the wall. However, it will take a couple of hours, as the geometry will need to be adjusted. Also, do not forget about the acoustics wiring, since the speakers should be at the screen, not at the projector.
3. The clarity of the picture and color reproduction should be evaluated in the store. I did not notice any complaints about color reproduction with normal dimming for a couple of years. Now the lamp is already 50% finished and there is a grayish gradient in the corners - a DLP problem. By the way, note that the lamp life is about 5-6 years, but after 4 years the picture will be pale.
4. It is worth considering dimming to save on the cost of the projector. I have an old Dell-1100MP - without dimming the picture is dim. At that time, together with the screen, it cost less than a poor 42 "TV. I really liked it for watching movies in the evening and I was satisfied.
5. The projector is good for movies, and not as a TV replacement.

A 42" TV costs ~25 thousand rubles. FullHD projector from 40 thousand ... 800x600 projectors, in my opinion, are only for office presentations with graphs. Oh, plus another 10 thousand for a normal screen.

The main disadvantage of projectors is the need to periodically replace expensive lamps. There are projectors with an LED light source, but so far they are inferior in performance to projectors with traditional halogen lamps.

The only advantage of the projector in mobility. There is no point in buying it for the home: budget models have poor color reproduction and full-hd TVs are taxiing out.
Unless there is an irresistible desire to have a screen in the entire wall - this is not to overcome, take it.

It's easier to buy a good plasma for HD.
