question about bluetooth headsets

I want to take a Plantronics M25 headset with an A2DP profile in order to listen to YouTube videos from my phone / iPad and not disturb others. Actually interested in whether it is possible to transfer sound to the headset from applications? Or just calls and music?

As far as I know, it doesn't matter what application is running. The sound will go to the headset in any case.
I have a Sony MW600 headset and a SE T700 phone, the sound goes to the headset from any application (although the applications are written in J2ME).
I don't think there should be any problems.

All sounds from the phone are redirected to the headset. Yes, in general, it works like regular headphones. I can connect my Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset to any devices with bluetooth and listen, phones and laptops work well.

I agree with previous speakers. I will only clarify that on Android you can determine which profile to connect to, that is, you can turn on the headset only for A2DP, and listen to the phone through the body itself and vice versa, as well as all together.

If the device is on Android, then there are 3 options in this area.
1st headset clings as a multimedia device (i.e. music, YouTube, etc. will go there)
2nd headset as a headset, only calls and no music (there is software that unfolds the multimedia stream in “headset”)
3rd there is both that profile and that one, you just need it)))
A2DP - theoretically should indicate that high quality sound will be transmitted (usually music), but since this is a headset, then the phone.
PS I apologize for the vagueness of speech
