Question about Babel?

Good day!
I am working on creating a multilingual site. Now I plan to implement it through babel. In general, such a question.
When creating a page duplicate via Babel, could I have chosen a different template? Will it work like that?
That is, I have the same page in English and Russian will be slightly different.
Or is babel obligatory to use identical templates for the language copy of the page?

Yes, linking a page to its "foreign language" counterparts and the template for this page are not interconnected.
You can first create the page you need with the desired template, and then link it to the "translation" that you consider necessary, the templates do not have to be identical.
