QTableView and Sql, editing database table from application?

Good afternoon.
Using QSqlRelationalTableModel, I pulled the model from the database table and placed it in a QTableView. Now, when I start the application, I can edit data from the database directly from the application, but this should not be, is this normal behavior? Do I need to somehow set the mode to read?
