Qt5 quick - what are the memory leaks?

Qt Quick applications take up an incredible amount of RAM. An empty window eats up 18 megabytes of memory. I tried to run examples from Qt Creator - it takes about 66 mb, and in a couple of minutes of idle memory, another 35 mb leaked.
Why is that ? It costs the newest Qt 5.3 mingw .

This is fine. Essentially Qt Quick is a Javascript and CSS interpretation add-on.
There are recommendations from the developers here, though they come down to dynamic loading and resource sharding.
