Purchase in America with postal delivery to the hotel

Hello.

A friend is going to the states. May bring new items. He does not have time to go shopping, so he asks to make an order at the hotel.

I plan to place an order in the company store. The website says delivery within 2 days.

The question was inspired by the Russian post.

Is it possible to count in real life on a two-day delivery?
Have you had experience ordering postal delivery to a hotel?
What should be included in the shipping address? Hotel address and room number?
Who can receive this package? Do I need to sit and wait for a parcel during the day?
What should I do if the item is damaged or broken?
What if I order and pay with my card, and another person will receive the parcel?
Does the e-shop show the final price of the goods or may there be an additional shatata tax?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

>> The question was inspired by the Russian Post.
Ha, it’s clear where the legs grow from. In the states, you would be pleasantly surprised by the service. I have something to share…
>> Is it possible to count on two-day delivery in real life?
If it says 2 days, then you are guaranteed to be delivered in 2 days and not a day later, because. this is express delivery and you pay money to have it delivered to you in 2 days, not 3.
>> Have you had experience ordering postal delivery to a hotel?
You can order to the hotel from any store, no one will refuse you. In the states, refusing to deliver anywhere within the country is the death of an online store.
>> What should be indicated in the delivery address? Hotel address and room number?
Indicate the address of the hotel and the name of the recipient.
>> Who can accept this package? Do I need to sit and wait for a parcel during the day?
The postman leaves all the mail at the reception. Of course, you don't have to sit. Further, depending on the hotel, the attendants can either bring you to your room, or call the room by phone and say that the package has arrived, or wait until the owner of the package comes for it himself. It is better to ask at the reception if there are parcels.
>> What should I do if the product is damaged or broken?
Contact the store. The usual practice is that you will be prompted to choose what you want - to send the goods again or return the money.
I had a case when the parcel was with a tracking number, the tracking said "delivered", but the parcel was not received. Despite the fact that the store is obviously not to blame, and this is like a delivery service fail, the store immediately sent the second parcel without any trial. Later it turned out that the first parcel was received by the manager in the complex where I rent an apartment, but I forgot to tell. Naturally, I sent the second parcel back at my own expense, and the store received +100 in karma.
>> What if I order and pay with my card, but another person will receive the package?
There are stores that only accept American payment cards. But if you can pay (the transaction goes through), then no problem at all.
>> Is the final price of the goods indicated in the online store or may additional tax be charged?
The tax of the state where the goods are delivered will also be levied. This tax varies from 0% to 7.5% . When you pay, you see the final amount anyway.

1. You can. But it usually costs extra money. The mail there works unlike the Russian one
. 2. I had experience. Depends on the store, the delivery service is purple where to take it.
3. And the address of the hotel, and the name of the recipient. If there is a room, then hers, but as a rule, parcels remain at the reception.
4. It is advisable to wait, but you need to ask at the reception if they can accept + indicate in the instructions for the parcel what can be left at the reception.
5. The same as with the usual receipt - complain to the store, they will already understand.
6. There are billing and shipping details, as a rule - it's no problem to specify different ones.
7. State tax may apply, you will be advised of this once the delivery point has been entered.

1. In my experience, you can. They are mandatory guys. Unless it's a flood or a hurricane.
2. It is better to clarify specifically in the store. It happens differently. Somehow I was refused delivery to an intermediary.
3. I think the address of the hotel is enough. Although it is better, again, to check with the seller.
4. Can leave at the front desk. It's best to check with the hotel. maybe they are against it.
5. There is a return item on the store's website. It all depends on the store.
6. It's okay. Maybe you buy a gift and immediately send it to the recipient!
7. The price of the product is indicated on the page. When placing an order, the final price is formed, taking into account taxes in a particular state.

If 2 days are written, then this is a maximum of 3 days, but this is more often an exception to the rule - they wrote 2 - it means 2. As a rule, they calculate the time depending on the delivery address. I didn’t order to the hotel - I ordered it to the address of residence. TNT / USPS in the absence of home or left in the mailbox (small package) or right next to the door (HP laptop) - no one took it (!!!). In your case, they will most likely leave it at the hotel reception, and they will already hand it over. Prices in the store are WITHOUT state tax, but when you pay, it will be indicated and will depend on the state in which this hotel is located. When delivering - indicate the address of the hotel, number and name of the recipient. And a phone number where he can be contacted. As for the damage - I won’t say - I don’t know, but it (the goods) is usually well packed additionally.

Specify how long the departure itself will take, sometimes it is delayed for a day or two.
