Protect script?

Hello.
Tell me what protection methods do you use to transfer your scripts (websites) to customers, until the moment you pay for the script?
In other words, how to protect yourself from an unscrupulous customer who can get a script and dump without paying for it?
Please advise, thanks in advance. PHP.

You can shove an easter egg into the script and use the obfuscator.

Look at the result of your work. If this is something like a CMS for a site, then we stupidly show the result of the work on our hosting. For the rest, we show the work in pieces, we require an advance payment if possible, and we try to gain a permanent circle of clients, reducing risks to a minimum.
Another option is to work through the mediation of the exchange. Both FL.ru and upwork.com support this option. The feature is that the money is not transferred directly, but through the exchange. Those. the customer deposits money in advance to the exchange account, but cannot return it just like that, especially if the work is done.

Choose your option:
1. Prepayment.
2. Agreement.
3. Virtual machine with VNC access. (so that the front-end is not stolen)

Here's what I'm doing - hell knows where, I throw php file manager into the engine and if the customer changes access and throws, then it's already clear what can be done or done regularly, this is already for revenge, this will not work for protection.
