ProFTPD: how to hide files that start with a dot?

Hello. Debian Jessie has ProFTPd installed. Can you please tell me how to hide files starting with a dot?
Something I can't figure out. If I'm not mistaken, then files starting with a dot should initially be hidden. However, for some reason this does not happen (they are hidden in the browser, but in the same Total \ Midnight Commander they are visible at a glance). The /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf file contains the following:
