Product design. Designer development. Need skills?

Hello.
For more than a year I have been thinking about the fact that I hit my ceiling, but I want to develop as a designer. I have been creating design layouts for websites for a long time, I thought that there is no development, while I follow behance, dribbbple, pinterest, awwwords, but again, where to find a customer with an interesting project. I work both as a freelancer and in a web studio. For all the time I changed 4 web studios / digital-agency, but they were all provincial, I left, either because they didn’t have work for me, or I got bored from the monotony. But it's worth noting. that the result was every period in working with sites better and better, but not as good as we would like.

In general, it was a lyrical digression, but a question. More specifically, the questions are:
1. How to transition to product design? Where to find the necessary literature for study. Of course, our best assistant is Google, but I didn’t find anything sensible except courses.
2. How to develop without live projects?
3. What knowledge/skills does a web designer/product designer need today to be in demand?

Product design is interfaces. You need to read books on the interface, like the Design of Everyday Things, The Interface, The Art of Washing the Elephant. I already spammed everyone here with my article , but it fits here well.
Make redesigns of existing interfaces, come up with a task for yourself, make a test somewhere.
Common sense, taste, typography, layout, knowledge of color and composition, visual hierarchy, knowledge of tools such as Sketch or Figma, animation, understanding of scripts and interface design principles.
