Problems with USB ports on a laptop: no power
Hey Habr!
I ran into the following problem - the power stopped (as it seems to me) to 2 of the 3 USB ports of the laptop.
Given:
- Laptop Lenovo G560 ;
- 3 USB ports on a laptop.
Now, when a device is connected to 2 out of 3 ports (located on one side of the laptop), the devices do not work (the diode on the flash drive does not light up).
The situation changes radically if you connect a powered USB hub to the problem port - devices through the hub start working. We turn off the power from the hub - the devices fall off.
Background:
Problems with usb, it seems to me, appeared after the following, an external hard drive with its own power was connected to one of the ports, which later became problematic, Windows XP gave a message something like "Maximum USB current exceeded". The device was immediately turned off.
Just in case, a screenshot from the Windows Device Manager:
Tell me what it could be? Can something threaten, except for 2 defective USB ports? Is there any way to fix it at a low cost?

1) Reboot probyval with the battery disconnected? Sometimes fuses blow.
2) Most likely, the positive contact (+ 5V) on the usb does not work. It doesn't threaten anything. You can try to disassemble, see where the circuit is broken, or even pull up these + 5V from another place.
Try booting from a LiveCD, see if it works.
Try resetting the BIOS.
