Problems with usb on macbook air 2013?

Hello.
I bought a macbook from a huckster and after a while the following problem was discovered:
If I connect my iphone4 with a cable, then everything works fine, it syncs, it charges.
If you connect your spouse's iphone 5s, it constantly reconnects, does not sync and does not charge.
Which way to look?
Thank you in advance.

Is this with both USB ports?
I observed the same thing, and it happened after installing the utility from Sony with some kind of firewood. This behavior was only on the right port, the left one was not affected.

That's just the point, that with both.
Mice, flash drives, everything works the same normally.
There is an idea that there may be a problem with USB3 devices, but there is nothing at hand with USB3 except iphone5s. I wonder if this is possible?

It is worth checking on another, native cable.
