Problems with PCI sata raid controller

There is a simple PCI sata raid controller. This one: I stick two sata disks into it, the download stops at . And it doesn't go any further. If the disks are poked out of it, it will go. The motherboard is booting from the primer IDE disk. Which, of course, is present and active. What could be the reason and where to dig? old motherboard, under the stump 3rd, Gigabyte GA-6VA7+
