Problem with uploading css files via FTP, what's the matter?

Tell me please.
Upload css file to ftp. Warns you to change. I am making a substitution. After some time, the file on the server either overwrites and becomes 0 bytes, or is downloaded with a different size altogether.
What to do?
I hot edit the styles in the Visual Studio editor locally and then upload them to the server via FileZilla.

1. Try to enable binary mode in ftp
2. Doesn't a script change the .css file on the server?
