Problem with recording voice on computer?

I recently encountered such a problem that the laptop does not record voice very well. At first I thought that the built-in microphone was acting up and bought headphones with a microphone. But the problem still remained. The voice recording is extremely compressed and squeaky. You can listen to the images here vocaroo.com/i/s0qvXb8hb29x (be careful, it can be loud).
I installed two different drivers from the official Toshiba website, but this did not help either.
I have a Toshiba Satellite model C660-14J, part number PSC0QE.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem or at least what causes it?

If the tips above do not help, try booting from the same Ubuntu LiveCD, if the microphone works fine, then the problem is definitely in the software. Then you can try one by one to remove the pre-installed software for sound, all sorts of improvements, try to install native Windows drivers.

Possible options:
1. Bad (noisy) sound path;
2. Incorrect settings for the sound system or the program that records the voice (what, by the way, are you using?).
The first problem can only be cured by using an external normal sound system. But first I recommend to work out the second possible option - play around with the volume settings, increase the bandwidth, reduce the compression ratio of the final file.

It looks like pre-installed software that adds effects. Try at first in the recording devices, look in the properties of the microphone, the improvement tab.
