Problem with hydra kali?

Hello!
I re-read the manuals, various forums and sites, looked at vidos and the like ... I can’t understand what the problem is. For personal self-development, I'm trying to pick up a password for my mailbox by searching from a dictionary. Everything seems to be fine, it works, but from the entire list in the dictionary - only 16 lines are traversed. That is, if the required password is line 17 (and it is specially line 17, I set it myself to understand what the problem is) - then hydra does not find it.
From terminal I run: sudo hydra -l my_mail -P /home/pas.txt smtp.mail.ru smtp -s 587
Output: 1 of 1 target completed, 0 valid passwords found.
It also happened to find a password but not the same, not the same at all.
-t -w - is there something wrong here?
