Priority of elements on a google map page?

Is it possible to change the priority for the infoWindow infoWindow (when clicking on the label), so that the window is shown on top of the search and filter? Tried setting the z-index in the styles for all of these elements, but the box turns white and the priority doesn't work anyway. The first three links on StackOverflow for 'z-index infoWindow' didn't help, i.e. setting parameters in js code does not change the priority in any way.
