Preamp records to 0db. What analyzer of the loudest parts in a song do you know?
Hello. I want to amplify music tracks to 0 decibels, because most of the recordings are far from zero, and I would like more volume on a portable. What can I use to analyze the recordings and identify the loudest places? I only listen to a couple of albums, so I can manually drive it away.
For those who wonder why I do not use the preamp in the player's equalizer - if you set it too high for this track, then clipping will occur on the bass (the loudest spectrum of music), that is, overload, it is also distortion. And since mixing differs from album to album, it needs to be constantly adjusted, and this is inconvenient. Moreover, I use a player without a transcend screen, because it gives out 2-3 times more voltage than a smartphone.

These are all crutches. The task naturally arises for many, including me. Alas, there are very few adequate and friendly solutions. On android, for example, did not meet at all.
As usual, the entire path should be good. Source, DAC, acoustics.
But if something sags and you really want crutches, then most audio editors have a normalize function, it will bring it to 0.
However, it is worth remembering that there are non-obvious features:
- zero source digit does not guarantee the absence of path overload in reality (google true peak)
- the loudness you are talking about is a psychoacoustic parameter. To equalize it, you need special equalization and compression (google LUFS). In other words, you need a different mastering, and this is individual for each song, and here you can go crazy, winding it all up yourself.
In general, if you listen to music in such conditions that due to the volume difference in the tracks there is an irresistible desire to equalize, then this is a reason to think. You may be damaging your hearing. Perhaps it's best not to try to drown out traffic noise with music.
However, if you have an extra 500 euros or so, then there is a very cool option - Bose earplugs with active noise cancellation. You can even listen to jazz in them on an airplane, forgive me audiophiles.
it is necessary to scan the tracks and register the ReplayGain tags. For example, poweramp knows how to use them perfectly
