Practices for functional/acceptance testing of multilingual sites?

Are there any best practices for creating acceptance and functional tests for multilingual sites? With the condition that the content may differ and there may be no translation of some phrases / sections, and I would like to check this, but not duplicate tests just for the sake of translations.
If we take Behat or Codeception as an example, how should we organize the futures and the tests themselves from the very beginning?
