Power supply for 200w, what spare parts to choose?
Hello. There is an old computer with decrepit iron. It was decided to update all hardware. Is there enough power for the power supply (200w) to operate modern boards (mother, vidyaha)? Or is it better to replace? I don’t rummage in this, so I ask for advice. In terms of power, the computer is needed for the normal operation of Photoshop, Illustrator and not heavy toys. If possible, then with examples of iron models.

Well, firstly, when a PC is completely updated, they first of all try to change the PSU, since the stability of work and the resource of the entire system depend on it. If the PSU was good and did not show signs of old age, you can leave the old one, but 200 watts is very small. If you want to leave it, first check the voltage on the 12 volt terminals - connect a load, such as a hard drive, or close a 10-40 watt (~ 1 Ohm) resistor. If the value is close to 12 or above 12, then most likely it can be used normally in a configuration where its power will be enough. See the power not on the label, but multiply 12 volts by the continuously permissible current along the 12V line (usually indicated on the block). You can check your configuration using the PSU power calculator
Example
i5-6600 config
2x 8gb ddr4
nvidia gtx 1060
+ drives + fans + extra cards.. and just to be sure, you need a 400 watt PSU. Well, without a video card, without overclocking and extra nodes, you can use a 200-watt unit, with its good quality and condition (!), But there we are no longer talking about many modern 3D games.
