Portfolio for a novice coder?
The essence of the question lies in the fact that I, as a person who discovered layout quite recently, simply have nothing to fill out my portfolio with. Dumping looks unpromising and stupid (Because it will only devalue the work itself in general and interfere with others. And at least I have mastered the layout more or less (HTML5 CSS3 and a little bit of JS) to put myself on the same level with the Indians and other "dumping" ... ), in fact, is it possible to fill a portfolio with laid out free psd layouts? And how to demonstrate the layout itself for this? (After all, there are no orders, to put it mildly, and for a portfolio, as far as the remnants of my brain tell me, I need to demonstrate a working layout.)

Look for orders, and while they are not available, make websites. In half a year there will be a huge portfolio or the realization that you are a lazy person.
Given the number of people in this area, 5 orders completed for a penny will not change the situation on the labor market, and you will gain experience and acquire contacts. In addition, it disciplines you and you will not stretch the layout of 1 page for a month.
The main thing is to be honest with yourself and potential customers, create a portfolio site, make layouts using free layouts, but indicate in the description what kind of work it is and why it was done, then no unpleasant situations will arise.
When we started, we took hosting with 5 domains and made 5 test sites. Hosting rent - 150 rubles per month, domain 150 per year, the money is small and will pay off with one order =)
What exactly to typeset for the portfolio - at least remake any of the existing sites, what's the difference - the main thing is to be beautiful.
But you will have something to show
