Poor display quality when connecting an external monitor via HDMI to a MacBook Pro?

Hello! I recently bought an external monitor for MacBook Pro DELL P2419H, connected it directly with an hdmi cable. The quality of the fonts is just terrible, I installed a patch, nothing helps. Can this be solved by connecting via DP > miniDP ? Or perhaps there are other ways to solve the problem.
