Please advise a software for recording video from a webcam (Movie Maker is a bug)

I did not think that I would have to ask about this on Habré, but something is not right in the world of video recorders. Movie maker for some reason gives out a record in bulk of short fragments of a few seconds, but oh well, Microsoft has never been able to make a good multimedia product.
ManyCam, it turns out, can do a lot of things, but not recording from the camera.
Who knows a decent Win32 webcam recorder that works reliably, is free (and not begging for a paid version) and with a normal interface?
Also for the same question about sound recording software.

There is a cool free iSpy utility that supports wabcamers and ipcameras.

Google Picasa can, although the movie maker should work without problems, in any case, I recorded a lot, but I didn’t encounter this.
