Plagiarized some features of an android app, what will be on google play for that?

I liked one application that has not been updated for a long time and in general the author almost scored on it, which is why users are indignant. I want to take a couple of ideas on design and functionality (to modify some), and add the rest of my functionality. I'm going to change all the colors, pictures, etc. But the design will show that this is plagiarism (the design is really convenient, and I can’t figure out how to rework it). Will the application be blocked in this case?
UPD: Thanks everyone for the replies! I had to think about the design for a long time, I redid it after all, made it more convenient and similar only by 10-15%

After a bit of poking around on Google Play, I realized that they stick to something between "do not care" and "do not care" in the question of the uniformity of applications. That is, if we take into account the fact that the functionality and design in the form of pictures will differ, then, I think, your application does not fall into the scope of copying in the face of Google, because. There are many such applications.
Can be compared with the AppStore. If the AppStore checks the source code of each application for the presence of 'CTRL-C + CTRL-V' and malicious code before publishing, then malware flies into the PlayMarket (is it worth talking about the similarity of the design and functionality of applications?)
And so ... I heard about specificity of Google support. So, if the application is suddenly blocked, it’s better not to write to them, otherwise the account will be banned. Or maybe removed altogether.
