Photo quality for contacts in Android 4.2

Greetings!

It seems like in Android 4.1 they increased the size of a possible photo for contacts up to 720 * 720. But on cyanogenmod 10.1 (4.2.2) this is the situation:

-I put a big photo on the contact - everything is ok.
-I synchronize contacts - everything is fine with the photo
-I change to a new CM with wipes - after synchronizing the contacts, the photo is shameful (it looks like 96 * 96), although it is clear that the photo is the one that I uploaded.

I tried to upload a high-quality photo through Gmail-contacts-change the photo - it's useless. When syncing, the quality is poor.

How to be? Where to dig? I sin on a google-app account, but there is nothing to check on a personal one.

So it locally stores a photo of this size. And it seems like 96 * 96 go to the server, as before.
