Phone number verification when signing up for Amazon AWS

Hello.

I wanted to create a microinstance on Amazon. Entered all the data, reached the verification of the phone number.
It does not go to a mobile call, but goes to a home one. A helpful robot with a female voice offers to enter a pin code.
This is where I'm probably doing something wrong. I have a regular push-button radiotelephone. PBX is probably analog. I dial the indicated numbers, but the robot does not like them.
Maybe someone had similar problems? How did you solve them?

And if you press * before entering the pincode?

You can always take a mobile phone and pipe the necessary DTMFs directly into your home phone.

If when you press the buttons you hear a set of numbers (tyr tyr tyr ..), then the analog mode is on, if you hear modern "peaks", then this is a digital mode (only the robot on the other side will understand it). As indicated above, any push-button device can be switched to tone mode by pressing * before a set of numbers.

And it doesn’t work with or without an asterisk, it doesn’t matter.

From myself I will say that not every push-button device can tone. There were late-Soviet push-button devices without tone dialing. For example, a huge number of devices on microcircuits * VZh *.
KR1008VZH10, KR1008VZH17.
There, the "*" button, at best, was responsible for resetting and redialling, on the first such devices it did nothing.

Practice on someone else - large stores, banks, etc.

Previously, Amazon allowed you to dictate the number by voice.
It worked for me from the second time, and the tone dial did not work after the 10th.

The same problem, only I use Iphone 4s the call goes through, I dial the code and says something like not able to verify, if I dial with an asterisk, it says that the code is wrong.

Faced a similar problem. When the call was received on a mobile (WP8.1) there was no reaction to the entered numbers. When I received a call to a push-button home with tone dialing turned on, everything worked out.
Involuntarily, the thought comes that the MS is dirty.

Faced a similar problem.
First I tried it on MTS from the Nokia Lumia 520 . It did not work with an asterisk and without an asterisk (as they wrote here in the comments).
Then he took out his old Nokia 2630 phone , put in a Smarts SIM card and voila! Authorization went well!
