Personal cloud (php server) on an old Android device - which OS to choose?
There is an idea to make something like a home cloud by running it on an old Galaxy Nexus, which still has a broken GSM module. In theory, the device immediately has everything you need, plus I connect an external hard drive via OTG. I will run something like OwnCloud on it , and I will distribute the network (WiFi hotspot, because there will still be no WiFi with the Internet in the place of use)
Question: Since I am not going to use the Galaxy Nexus as a phone anymore, but I only need server functionality, what to run on it? Of course, you can use any app with the functionality of a php server. The second idea was to install Complete Linux Installer and run everything there... Maybe there are some better solutions?
Tell me, is there any Linux distribution that would be suitable for solving this problem?

You can raise an FTP server through ES File Explorer. Set login/pass for login, home directory, etc. I highly recommend it! Access point directly from the network settings. Yes, you can install Linux there, but there will be no strong performance. Only for small experimenters. And why do you need some kind of gui in the browser if there is FTP?
+ if you use the Nautilus file manager, then you can very easily connect to the ftp server and work with it like with a regular folder. It's better than using additional software like FileZilla. True at the expense of speed - did not check
