Partition recovery without data loss on a portable USB drive

I got my hands on a 600 gigabyte ADATA Classic CH94 hard drive on Friday, I need to recover data from it. I went through the testdisk utility - a partition was found, but the trouble is - restoring the partition through it is an unsuccessful solution: then the files will be unreadable and have exactly the same size. A friend advised me to install the program Active @ Partition Recovery , but since I actually have a first meeting with a similar task, I am a little, of course, afraid.

Total we have:
my HDD is temporary, only 20 gigabytes of free disk space (my 500 GB Seagate Barracuda burned down in early May), so it’s impossible to make a backup copy of the data - either in an image or simply copying the files - well, it won’t work. There is no place on FTP to merge all ~400 gigabytes of data. So that leaves one question related to my fear.

When restoring the boot sector (see screenshot) through this program, will all data be saved or is there still a risk of losing everything?

Nevertheless, before you start, find a friend with 500 GB of space to take an image. Any data recovery starts with this. There is no such friend - I would even ask someone for money, but without an image in any way.
And then whatever - you will have an unlimited number of attempts.

I used Acronis DiskDirector there with a built-in check for partition recovery, out of 10 cases - 1 with a loss.
so how lucky.
but before that I was insured and pulled out the data using GetDataBack for FAT/NTFS

In the same testdisk, it is possible to show a list of files in the partition (P key) and copy them from this list to another medium. Or really make an image, and then try to restore.

In general, the first pancake came out lumpy — almost everything looks normal. But most folders and files are not accessible. What can be done? Is it worth trying to replace the MBR?
