Packages from the repository are not installed. How to be?
Greetings.
There is such a task - to install another virtual machine (kvm) on a remote server (ubuntu server 14). One is already spinning on it, which has been given more resources than it needs. It is necessary to reduce its resources and create another one nearby. In order to make my task easier, I wanted to connect from my PC (fedora) through the virtual machine manager. When I try to connect, it gives the following - "You need to install openssh-askpass or a similar program to connect to this host." I connect via ssh to it and try to install it.
No packages are installed
. Does KVM support snapshots?

First of all go to /etc/apt/sources.list
and try other repositories. Here are mine for testing:
deb ru.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial main restricted
deb ru.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates main restricted
deb ru.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial universe
deb ru.archive. ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates universe
deb ru.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial multiverse
deb ru.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates multiverse
deb security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security main restricted
debsecurity.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security universe
deb security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security multiverse
deb archive.canonical.com/ubuntu xenial partner
Assuming you also have 16.04. If not, you need to replace xenial with the name of your distribution.
As far as I remember, for 14.* ubuntu branch you should use old-releases.ubuntu.com
You are using a mirror in Kazakhstan. It may simply not work at the moment. Switch to something else. Or maybe it already worked, try again.
