Outputting an array of strings with a pause per second on Swing?

It is necessary to display an array of strings consisting of words on a JFrame with a pause of 1 second. I tried to implement it by assigning an array element to the JLanel component, but in the end the pause occurs every other time. That is, about 5 words are normal, and then the pause is not 1 second, but let's say 3. And so the whole cycle is random.
