OSX how to overcome airprint printer problem?

There is a mac book air and an airprint-enabled printer (canon selphy cp910).
The printer is configured for a local wifi network, works with iphone via airprint without problems.
On a laptop I try to add a printer, it is located immediately, but when I try to add it, I get an error "it is not possible to establish communication with the printer at the moment."
Okay, I put the printer drivers from the canon website, I try to connect via usb. The printer appears in the list, but cannot find a driver for it.
Where to dig?
