OpenVPN tunnel and routing

There is a configured vpn tunnel between a windows client (10.9.8.2) and a remote debian server (10.9.8.1).
Configured here according to this manual: wiki.debian.org/HowTo/openvpn
How to properly configure routing / anything else so that Internet access from the client is through a tunnel, and not through its own Internet connection?

Tried "route add 0.0.0.0 MASK 0.0.0.0 10.9.8.1" - did not help. Perhaps something needs to be configured on the server?

@lafayette

Yes, configure NAT on the server, for example, using iptables.
