Actually, as far as I understand, VideoCapture can only work with video without compression, but what if you need to process a rather large video file in h264 format? Somewhere I remember seeing something about this. \ There it was proposed to build the ffmpeg library with h264 support, but again there were nuances.

I did not understand the question
. I perfectly opened the video (avi), clamped just H264
In Linux, it is enough to build ffmpeg with libx264 support
