On what to write helpdesk?
For the sake of getting acquainted with the world of the web, and for practical use, I decided to write a lightweight ticket system. Actually, while the matter has risen on desire - I have never been aware of the current situation in the world of the web at all. What is "fashionable" now or is it useful to know what the backend is written on, what is used for the frontend? What technologies are best suited for this task?

Almost everything will do)
Helpdesk is a task that does not cause any special loads and does not require any specific implementation.
In fact, you can even write a helpdesk on sockets so that "it's real time!". For some "monolithic" technology stack, you can try on node.js. Quite fashionable and, in principle, an adequate choice.
Frontend - JS with a framework. Not so long ago I asked a question on the toaster "which framework to choose for the admin panel". Here the task is similar. I was hooked on Ember, but there are clearly more communities and examples on angular.
https://wrapbootstrap.com/theme/angle-bootstrap-ad... - all examples included
wagon options.
Perhaps the least expensive is php + mysql (in general, it is possible without a database).
If "checkered" is for you, then again there are many options - the same Node with Express or django. But this is more for learning, for tickets it is more than redundant.
It’s probably fashionable to hang Angular on the face, but personally, I myself write in html + js on hardcore.
