workcentre 5022 connected via usb to a computer with windows xp
You need to install it with a script or else as on computers with windows 7. To print windows 7 directly on XP.
How to do this through gpo or some kind of script?

rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /in /n \\pechatk1\bibleoteka

firewood to the shared folder, and a script that will first start the installation of firewood, and then add the printer. It's good if you have a well-organized network (domain and AD there). Then it will be easier

1. Most likely Windows XP is 32 bit, and Windows 7 is 64 bit. For a simple and easy installation, you need to add 64-bit drivers in the printer properties on Windows XP. Well, add to AD.
After that you can:

  • deploy this printer using GPO (without any scripts). From print servers, printers are deployed exactly, I have not tried it from local machines, but they should.
  • you can try and repeat the script above
  • The most correct option is to do nothing after that. After you have added the printer to AD with all possible drivers, then this is already a user problem. That is, this is no longer a technical problem, but an organizational one. Users themselves must be able to install a printer for themselves through the GUI, the procedure there is very user friendly. If the description of printers, their location are made adequately, then the user will find a suitable printer for himself and will print on it. Enough to lead him by the hand.
