Old school PS2 games?
Just now I played with my youngest son in PS2, all the games for two are somehow bloody, like ninja turtles, that mortal battalion commander. I remembered what we played in the days of “everyone plays dandy”. DuckTales, Chip and Dale, beautiful cartoon toys. Of course, you can download an emulator, but 8-bit games will look “not ice”. Maybe one of the habrousers will advise that now there are their simple cartoony beautiful toys?
Z.Y. I just want 2D.

Ratchet & Clank, Klonoa, Sly Cooper, Sonic Adventure. But it's all 3d. You won't find 2d on ps2.
Can a child buy some kind of PSP-like analogue, only sharpened to emulate old consoles (as far as I remember, such consoles are sold in the Euroset)? There are just any dandy games there ... Alternatively: the PSP itself, there are a huge number of 2D games that are quite suitable for children - LocoRoco, for example.
There are few 2d toys on ps2, and even less for two. there seems to be no non-bloody ones :)
on ps2 there are few games for two in general.
you better emulator on ps zaupstite, there are collections of dandy / sega games, and there everything is basically 2d. and the fact that the graphics are not beautiful, so let the child be imbued with the spirit of old-school games, this is only a plus IMHO :)
and so, I can advise you Lego Star Wars. although it is not 2d, but the children are delighted and for two

there is a good 2d scroller - gradius . the most for two, only complicated
I don't remember the new ones. Of the old ones, only if you try to run PS One games:
- Disney's Hercules (action, 2d with a touch of 3d) psx.ign.com/articles/152/152045p1.html
- Herc's Adventures (rpg, isometric) www.gamespot.com/ps/ adventure/hercsadventures/index.html
- Pandemonium (action, 2d with a dash of 3d) www.gamespot.com/ps/action/pandemonium/index.html
