@nuxt/components doesn't find external modules, is additional configuration needed?

ERROR in ./pages/ ... Module not found: Error: Can't resolve 'node_modules/@scope/my-module/components/some-component.vue

In fact, it sort of finds them, since they are listed in the .nuxt/components/readme.md file - this is during development. And everything works during development . But the assembly breaks and gives an error.
