Not enough memory to execute gulp-imagemin?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to compress more than 5 gigs of images on a vds with 512mb of memory and the same swap. After a few seconds, all memory is eaten up and execution fails with the following error

internal/child_process.js:298
throw errnoException(err, 'spawn');

How to limit memory consumption?

Grab another tool imgo.github.io/imgo

Install locally and then upload to the host - it will be much faster
