Non-standard screen resolution in windows xp?

I got a laptop with a screen resolution of 1680 by 1050.
With a screen of 15 "it's a hell of a resolution, I don't understand who they are made for at all.
But it's a fact.
I calculated that the aspect ratio is exactly 1.6
It would seem that for such a ratio, the ideal resolution it would be 1280 x 800.
But for some reason, it is not in the list of available resolutions. There
are 1280x600, 1280x720, 1280x768, 1280x960 ...

Video adapter Intel 82940GML / 943GML

Question: is it possible to somehow set the resolution to 1280x800 if it is not in the list of available ones?

Editing
the HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\VIDEO\ {address of video card}\0000\ registry
does not produce the expected result.

There is an excellent utility called PowerStrip . With it, you can set different resolutions and settings that are not supported by the original driver. There is a system of profiles, Look can fit.
