nmap doesn't work. Why?

In the terminal I write:
sudo nmap scanme.nmap.org
But for some reason nothing works.
Writes:

Starting Nmap 7.01 ( https://nmap.org ) at 2018-03-04 16:12 +05

And that's it. Waited 5 minutes. Why?
