Ngettext for Russian in source code?

There is a ready-made project, in the source codes of which the Russian language is used. There was a need to add Belarusian localization. But what about ngettext, which is for English? It accepts 2 forms of translation for the plural, in Russian - 3. Maybe there is a solution for the problem for python?
PS: English will never be used, I would not like to pointlessly translate source codes into it.
