NetBeans "Local Area Connection Object Not Found" error. What is it?

All of a sudden, NetBeans started showing the error "Local Area Connection Object Not Found" when trying to open a project from files and when navigating through the files in the open dialog



. How do I solve the problem?

the problem was solved
on the desktop there was a shortcut from the old "local network connection", deleted it and the problem was solved
