NetBeans 7.3.1 takes at least half an hour to load

For some time now, my NetBeans has been loading for about half an hour (or more), hanging on the "Launching modules ..." mark. I tried to remove and reinstall the current version and the old one (with which there were definitely no problems).
Does not help. I tried to disable all modules: first I disabled all modules - it's fine, then I turned it on - it loads normally again, after 2 or 3 launches - it freezes again. I have no idea what to do.

Another related question: is it possible to somehow disable plugins in NetBins without starting NetBins?

You probably didn't delete the settings folder. Maybe you have problems with the file system, or the project is broken. You can try to install rc, it is already quite stable and runs fast. Oh yes, also update the java machine, check that it does not work with the old version, especially if you use openjdk

It seems there are already 7.4. Haven't tried it? Cleaned everything up first. I don’t remember exactly, but in my opinion, in Windows, netbins still crap in AppData.

I use 7.4 RC2, stability and performance above 7.3 is noticeable. There is no point in not updating.
Netbins does not overwrite old versions (at least the Linux version).
Install without importing settings, try it.
And try to import settings later.

But try it
strace -s 100 -f netbeans
and most likely you will see what it hangs on, most likely it just tries to open something missing many times.
