Need help with PWM on ATmega2560?

The task is to implement an analog output signal using PWM instead of an external DAC. The MCU has 14 PWM outputs (only 2 analog outputs are required). It is clear that you need to add an integrating filter (RC-chain), which is not clear on the basis of what to count. Also interested in whether a voltage stabilizer is required after the filter or not, in what situations is it generally used?
And yes, you don’t need to write code, you just need to draw a diagram.
Sorry if the questions are stupid, the articles I came across already make my head boil.

RC circuit with a large time constant (\tau = RC; an order of magnitude greater than the PWM period). If you are not sure about the theory, then practice is the best help. Take some simple circuit simulator and try to pick up the values.
