Need an API server to scan files for viruses. Which program or service to choose?

The customer wants me to give him an API server to scan files for viruses.
I'm familiar with ClamAV but https://github.com/ifad/clammit and even more so software.othello.ch/mod_clamav seem to be abandoned. Plus the customer wants to look at something paid.
Advise, please.
