MySQL vs. MariaDB vs. PostgreSQL - what and when is better?

When I first learned PHP I used MySQL, then I heard about MariaDB and started using it. I didn't notice any particular differences. I also heard about PostgreSQL, but I haven't tried it yet. So what is the best SQL server to use and when?

Then, when your current server ceases to cope with your task - then you will look for something else.
If everything works, don't worry.
And in complex projects, a system architect with experience will make this choice for you.

By and large, there is no difference.
But I always had problems with MySQL.
PostgreSQL can "enrage" because it has strong typing.
If you write garbage in MySQL and it even executes, then it will throw an error in PostgreSQL.
